Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is located in the southwestern region of Uganda at the edge of the East African Rift Valley. It is home to half of the remaining population of mountain gorillas in the world. There are over 23 habituated gorilla families ready for the activities. Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Bwindi Head Quarter – Brief and Gorilla Trekking

You will wake up very early and have breakfast served at the hotel. Our professional guide drive will pick you up between 5 am to 6 am depending on the listed location above –whether your hotel is in Kisoro or Kanungu. You shall request the hotel /lodge staff wake you up on time and pack for you lunch, sandwich, or other snack.

Briefing at the park offices usually begins between 7:30 am to 8 am and then meet your guide to brief you about gorilla rules and what to expect.

After briefing, you will be divided into groups of 8 people and be assigned different gorilla groups, depending on your overall fitness and preference.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park has more than 23 habituated gorilla groups.  Get ready for the trek as you will enjoy more hours than expected depending on the movement of your assigned gorilla family that day.

Remember to carry useful essentials such as gorilla tracking boots, long stockings, a raincoat, a cap, and rainproof pants. If you have heavy luggage, you can hire a porter who is always available to help at about $15.

When gorillas are allocated, you will be given one hour to spend with them as you learn about their behaviors, habits as well as take memorable photography. As soon as you are done with watching gorillas. You will hike back to the park headquarters to be rewarded with a certificate to prove that you were successful in trekking gorillas. Then after, meet your guide and drive back to your hotel /lodge in either Kisoro or Kunungu or Kabale.
