Detailed itinerary of 9 Days Mara, Crater & Serengeti Migration Safari
Day 1 – 2: welcome to Kenya – Visit Masai Mara
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide and representative, after a short briefing about the safari you will be transferred to Wilson Airport where you will board a scheduled flight to Masai Mara National Reserve where you will spend the two nights.
Masai Mara National Reserve is the most popular wildlife safari destination in Kenya famous for the Great Wildebeest Migration and a richly varied population of wildlife including all the Big 5, the Great Wildebeest Migration occurs when the vast herds of wildebeests, zebras and gazelles move through the ecosystems following the rains and fresh grazing.
On this safari, you will explore the endless plains by vehicle on early morning and late afternoon game drives when wildlife is most active, you will also participate in guided nature walks providing you a more intimate insight into the natural environment and get a closer interaction with nature and wildlife.
During the game drives you will spot a variety of wildlife including lions, leopards, cape buffaloes, gazelles, giraffes, elephants, wildebeests, among others.

Day 3 – 4: fly to Arusha and transfer to Lake Manyara
After early breakfast at your lodge, you will return to Wilson Airport for a scheduled flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania, upon arrival you will be welcomed by your our presentative / safari guide and transfer to Lake Manyara national park described as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”.
Lake Manyara National Park is a beautiful national park and one of the most visited national parks in Tanzania well known for the tree climbing and thousands of pink flamingoes around the shores of Lake Manyara which is a birder’s delight. Upon arriving in Lake Manyara national park, you will have lunch at your lodge and then go for an afternoon game drive exploring the park and enjoying sights of animals including lions, leopards, gazelles, aardvark, bat eared foxes, cape buffaloes among others.
On the 4th day of the safari, you will spend a full day in Lake Manyara National Park exploring and enjoying views of animals.

Day 5-6: Ngorongoro Crater (Ngorongoro Conservation Area)
After an early game drive and a mouthwatering breakfast, you will be transferred from Lake Manyara national park to Ngorongoro Crater by road. Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a place of wonder with Ngorongoro Crater – the largest intact crater in the world, a miraculous terrain and abundant fauna and flora. The site was granted a status of a World Heritage site because of its harmonious coexistence of its people “the Maasai” and the animals.
The Crater is the world’s largest intact, un- flooded caldera and as you head to your lodge – Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, you will descend to the crater floor passing through the grasslands which is a haven to wildebeests, zebras, elands, gazelles, lions among others year-round. The Ngorongoro Crater has the densest population of lions in the world, there are also elephants, mountain buck, bffaloes, hyenas, wild dogs, leopards and cheetahs.
On the 6th of the safari, you will spend a full day game viewing and exploring the crater floor with picnic lunch on the grasslands amidst grazing animals. Return to the lodge for sundowners on the crater’s rim and a sumptuous feast in the domed dining area.
Day 7 -8: Explore Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will breakfast and transfer to Serengeti national park, one of the last remaining natural migration corridors and one of the oldest ecosystems on earth. The climate, vegetation and fauna of the park have remained mostly unchanged for over the past millions years, Serengeti National park is a playground for the annual Great Migration of more than a million wildebeest, gazelles and zebras.
You will enjoy lunch at one of the picnic sites of the park and continue with exploring the endless plains of Serengeti following the migration herds which are in large columns.
On the 08th day of the safari you will spend a full day in Serengeti plains following the herds, you can also have an optional early morning hot air balloon ride on which you will enjoy aerial views of the endless plains of the park and the large columns of the migrating herds.

Day 9: Farewell to Africa
After breakfast, you will checkout and head to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will then catch your international flight back home marking the end of the safari.
