Detailed Itinerary for 16 days gorillas, Serengeti great migration and Zanzibar beach safari holiday.
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to your Hotel
On arrival at Kigali International airport you will meet and greet with our representative who will transfer you to your hotel for overnight or lunch depending on your arrival flight schedule. You will be briefed about your upcoming activities.
Day 2: Full day tour of Kigali City
Today after a heavy breakfast, you will embark on the tour of Kigali city beginning with a tour of Gisozi genocide memorial center. Here you will witness the graveyards of the genocide victims laid to rest. You will watch touching videos and pictures and listen to stories that narrate the horrifying genocide. Later you will transfer to Nyamata Church where over fifty thousand Rwandese were killed as they sought shelter and some bodies still in clothes, bones and skulls are displayed. You will break off for lunch and in the late afternoon visit Caplaki crafts market to buy souvenirs and other local cultural items before heading back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to the Volcanoes for a Cultural experience at the Iby’Iwachu cultural Village.
Arguably the best place to hide, relax and recuperate your mind, the Iby’ IWachu cultural Village in the heart of Volcanoes National Park is the perfect place to visit for cultural enthusiasts. The hospitality of the locals is mesmerizing as your presence will be of great pleasure to the community members who will share with you and showcase the details of their past. The village displays a traditional and cultural lifestyle of Rwandese including food growing, processing and preparation, dress code , traditional ceremonies and interpersonal relationship with in the community. The visit to this village rewards the cultural enthusiasts with a total understanding of the Rwandan culture. Later you will head out to your lodge for overnight.
Day 4: Lake Bunyonyi
After a previous night of dancing and action, today you will wake up at leisure, enjoy your breakfast and thereafter transfer to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale-Uganda arriving in time for lunch relaxation in your room as you watch over the Lake. Later enjoy your dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Boat Cruise and transfer to Kibale National park.
Today enjoy your early breakfast and embark on an early morning boat cruise on the Lake Bunyonyi which is home to 29 individual islands. The Cruise presents a soothing recreational encounter that is refreshing. Return to the lodge for check out and transfer to Kibale National Park the home of Chimpanzees arriving in time for lunch and later an afternoon Bigodi swamp walk before retiring for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Chimpanzee Trek and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park.
Today after breakfast, you will be transferred to Kanyanchu Park headquarters for briefing from the senior park ranger and later begin your exploration of Kibale forest in search of Chimpanzees. At around 8:00 am you will transfer to the starting point which is 2 Km away from the park headquarters to begin your Chimpanzee trekking encounters. On finding the primates you will spend some time with them before returning to the lodge for check out and transfer to to Bwindi Impenetrable national park the home of Gorillas
Day 7: Gorilla trekking
Today wake up to an early breakfast and transfer to the Park head offices with your packed. On arrival by 7:30am you will be briefed about what to do and not to do while trekking after which you will be led by the guides through the mist jungle. On finding the gorillas you will be allowed to watch them for a maximum of 1 hour. Return to the lodge for lunch, check out and transfer to Kigali City for relaxation, dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 8: Flight from Kigali to Arusha and transfer to Ngorongoro.
Today after an early breakfast, you will transfer to Kigali International Airport to catch your flight to Arusha -Tanzania arriving in time for an evening transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation where you will have dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Game drives in the craters, visit masai and transfer to Serengeti with an evening game drive.
After breakfast you will drive down into the crater together with your guide for game drive viewing sessions. About 3 times the size of Paris with a depth of over 600 meters, THE Ngorongoro crater is home to variety of Africa’s wilderness including elephants, buffalos, black rhinos, hippos, hyenas, cheetahs, lions and dozens of other species. After your picnic lunch you will transfer to Serengeti National Park en-route the Masai Village arriving in time for check in and an evening game drive in search of wildebeest migration herd(Seasonal). Return to the lodge for a well-deserved night’s rest.
Day 10: Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti
Today is arguably the highlight of your safari and after breakfast you will head out for a full day game drive where you will experience Serengeti in its full glory today! Look forward to countless plant species like the umbrella acacias and millions of mammals like lions, Cheetahs, Leopards, zebras, elephants and antelopes. Later return to the lodge for a delicious dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Serengeti National Park
Today wake up at leisure and stay at the lodge relaxing before embarking on an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti national park while you will view animals lie like baboons, hippos which come to cool off at the river bank of Serengeti River. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 12: Tarangire National Park and afternoon game drive
Today after breakfast you will transfer to Tanzania’s special national park called Tarangire National Park for an afternoon game drive. The park is famous for its diverse landscape with nine different vegetation zones including the ancient Baobab trees. Tarangire River is full of wildlife species which range from a large variety of birds to lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes and elephants. You will later continue to your lodge for overnight and dinner.
Days 13: Transfer to Arusha
Today you say good bye to the Northern Circuit of Tanzania as you transfer to Arusha with lunch enroute arriving in time to catch your flight to Zanzibar at Arusha Airport. On arrival, you will be welcomed by your driver and transferred to your hotel. If you like, you can join one of the following tours in Stone Town before being transferred to your Hotel at Zanzibar Serena Hotel.
Day 14-15: Zanzibar Islands
Have some time to enjoy your Zanzibar holiday at leisure as you relax on the white sand beach. You may go snorkeling, diving or sailing.
Day 16: Transfer to Zanzibar Airport
After your memorable East Africa safari holiday, say good bye to the sun and sand as you transfer to Zanzibar International Airport (ZNZ) for your forward flight back home.
