Day 1: Transfer and Trekking in the Udzungwa Mountains
Your 1-day trip will start from Ifakara and then transfer to Udzungwa Mountains National Park. Upon arrival, you will check in at the park headquarters and thereafter, you start hiking to Sanje waterfall which rises about 170m above sea level dropping in four different stages, Sanje waterfall is renowned as the highest waterfall in Tanzania National Park. The place is cool for swimming with impressive views.
The hiking adventure takes 5 hours and returns –on your way, you will be rewarded with a perfect view of primates such as the endangered Iringa Red Colobus monkey and the Sanje crested Mangabey are only found in this park. You will also experience a great view of various birds, butterflies, and plants as well as some reptile species. Have your lunch in the park and after drive back to Ifakara or any advised place.
