Kitulo National Park is located in the heart of the southern Highlands of Tanzania, It is often referred to as the “Serengeti of flowers “Locals named it “Bustani ya mungu meaning” The Garden of God, The Park covers an area size of approximately 413 square Kilometers, The Park is at an elevation of 2600 meters between the peaks of the Kipengere and poroto mountains and covers an area of 412 square kilometers lying in both Mbeya and Njombe region. The Park was established in 2005 as the First National Park in Tropical Africa primarily to protect its unique Flora. Kitulo is a biodiversity hotspot, home to a stunning array of plant species including many endemic varieties.
Kitulo National Park boasts an Incredible diversity of Flora with over 350 species of Plants recorded within its boundaries, this includes numerous species of flowers, grasses, and herbs many of which are Unique to the area. The park is also renowned, particularly for its endemic plant species which are hard to get them anywhere else, among these rare Plant species are the Kitulo daisy referred to as Tanzania’s National Flower, and the stunning orchids of various species.
