Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer To Nyungwe Forest National Park & Coffee Tour.

On day 1 of the 8 Days Rwanda Safari, upon your arrival, you will be picked up by the driver from your hotel in Kigali and drive southwards to Nyungwe Forest National Park. You will have a stopover in Butare, where you will visit the National Museum of Rwanda, and the King’s Palace in Nyanza with lunch en route. Before you make your way to the Park you will have a stopover at the Huye Women’s Coffee Cooperative which will take you on a 2-hour’s safari at the coffee plantation understanding more about the coffee-making process from harvesting, sorting, and cleaning until it is processed. You will also get to watch how coffee has improved the livelihoods of the neighboring communities through women’s empowerment for an amazing safari experience. After the safari experience, make your way to the park and check in your hotel. Dinner and overnight at Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Hill Top View Hotel.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking And Canopy Walk.

On day 2 of the 8 Days Rwanda Safari, Enjoy breakfast and go for a briefing about the endangered chimpanzees before entering the forest in search of the active and playful fellows in Nyungwe forest. The Chimpanzees are much easier to spot as they jump from one tree to another, chattering and laughing. Chimpanzee tracking usually takes about 3 hours. On finding them, spend an hour taking pictures and videos.  You will then return to your hotel to freshen up, have lunch check out, and later in the afternoon participate in After lunch, you will go on a walking trail that will take you to the Canopy Walk-a swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees. You will be able to see the amazing rainforest with a bird’s eye view, spotting wildlife moving about below you, and thereafter connect to your accommodation to spend the evening at leisure.

Day 3: Transfer Back To Kigali

After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, You will check into your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. Hotel des Mille Collines for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park and Mount Karisimbi hike

On day 4 of the 8 Days Rwanda Safari, depending on your location either at Kigali International Airport or in Kigali city you will be welcomed by your guide a representative of our tour company who will give you a briefing session of your safari where you will get to know the rules and regulations to follow to have a safe and an amazing time during your stay in Rwanda. After the briefing session, you will then be transferred to Volcanoes National Park famous for gorilla trekking in Rwanda where you will watch the habituated mountain gorillas in Rwanda. Get ready to have the most rewarding experiences during the tour where you will see a number of unique landforms like lake the hilly areas, you will get to see a number of coffee plantations and tea plantations as you get to the park. You will transfer to the park headquarters where you will be briefed about Mount Karisimbi hike after you will embark on your hike to the summit, you will get to see a number of attractions like numerous bird species like Ruwenzori turaco, road throated alethe, kivu ground thrush, Ruwenzori dark collared sunbird, mountain sparked Apalis, Regal Sunbird, stripe breasted tit and because the hike takes two days for a tourist and at 3700m you will stop at the first camping site for dinner and overnight

Day 5: Reach the summit, descend

After an early morning wild breakfast as you watch amazing views from Mount Karisimbi, you will embark on your hike to the summit where you will get to hike through thick vegetation when you get to the summit, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the amazing views of the mountain and the neighboring Virunga mountains like Mount sabyinyo and Mount Muhabura, you will then descend the mountain, where your guide will be waiting for you at the headquarters and connect you to Kigali city for refreshments and lunch. Day 6: Golden monkey trekking

On day 6 of the 8 Days Rwanda Safari, you will enjoy breakfast and transfer to the habituated golden monkey troop, you will see a number of primate species like dent’s monkey, vervet monkey, and the black and white colobus monkeys among other monkey species swinging in the tree branches as you get to the habituated golden monkey troop, you will have the chance to see a number of rewarding aspects of the golden monkeys observing a number of features that you will find fascinating about the primates, for instance, their feeding patterns, the co-existence with one another among other mem0orable aspects. At the climax of your time with the golden monkeys, you will take pictures with and after you will transfer back to your park headquarters where you will be transferred back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Mount Bisoke hike

You will enjoy breakfast and set out for the Mt. Bisoke hike which is part of the Virunga mountain ranges shared by Mgahinga National Park in Uganda, Virunga National Park, and Volcanoes National Park while hiking the On reaching the summit, you will discover a beautiful crater lake and the whole experience is overwhelming! Along the trail, you will discover a lot of birdlife and captivating scenery – the reason Rwanda is referred to as the “land of a thousand hills”. After the hike, you will have lunch and head back to your hotel for relaxation.

Day 8: Gorilla trekking and transfer back to Kigali

On last day of the 8 Days Rwanda Safari, after an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked up from your hotel. our guide will meet you after having your breakfast and your lunches packed and he will take you to Kinigi Headquarters where you are expected to be given a brief before starting the gorilla trek. This brief is done at 7 am. You are given guidelines during this brief before you are allowed to start the trek. This gorilla trek can take about 2 hours to half a day as it’s unpredictable. When you finally find the gorillas, you will have to maintain a 7-meter distance and you are allowed one hour to admire and take photos of the gorillas. During the time you spend with the gorillas, you will get the opportunity to understand a number of their rewarding features like how they co-exist with one another, you will get to watch the duty of the dominant silverback whose role is to mate with the adult females to increase the members of the family, raid other gorilla families for their members, you will watch the juveniles grooming one another for a rewarding safari experience. After the trek, you will then embark on your journey back to Kigali.
