Day 1: transfer to Akagera National Park
At an agreed location in Kigali City, you will be met by your guide who will transfer you to Akagera national park to participate in the different activities in Akagera national park. Before making your way to the park, you will get to take part in the Kigali city tour, which will lead you to the Kigali genocide memorial museum, which will give you the chance to understand more about the dark times of Rwanda in 1994 that killed over 1,000,000 people. You can visit the Kimironko market, the oldest market in Rwanda, where you can purchase some local produce. You will also get to watch many other rewarding sites for a memorable safari experience. After the experience, you will make your way to the park, where you will have a short game drive on your way to the hotel. On reaching the hotel, you will check in for dinner and an overnight stay. at Karenge bush Camp (budget) Akagera game lodge (mid-range)
Day 2: Half game drive, lake Ihema boat cruise, and a night game drive
After an amazing lunch at your accommodation facility you will participate in a half game drive to watch the species in the wild that you might have missed out on during the game drive and later in the afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema where you will see game like hippopotamuses, Crocodiles and many bird species like the endangered shoe bill stork, African King fishers catching their prey from the Lake that live around the lake and the surrounding swamps. After the experience, head back to your hotel for refreshments and later participate in the night game drive, which will give you the chance to watch how the park comes to life when the sun sets. You will watch a number of different carnivores in the park, like the lions, leopards catching their prey in the wild, among other rewarding attractions. Day 3: Full day game drive and departure
Rise up early in the morning, have breakfast, and go for a morning game drive with great anticipation of seeing the different animals which rise early to graze and predators looking for their early morning kill, especially the big cats like the leopard, lion, and many other carnivores. You will get to watch a number of herbivores like the rhinos grazing within the plains, elephants, gazelle, oribi, and many other rewarding game animals. After the morning game drives, you will head back to your hotel for refreshments and later in the afternoon, transfer to take part in the evening game drive. Get ready to watch how the park comes to life as the sunsets, with a number of predators coming from their hiding spots to catch prey, the herbivores catching their last bite for the day, the crocodiles can be seen sun-basking, and elephants quenching their thirst from the river banks, which will make your safari quite memorable. After the activity, you will make your way to the park, having lunch en route, and later be dropped off at a hotel of your choice at Kigali international airport in case you have a flight to catch back home or drop off in Kigali city as you may advise.
