The 9 days Gorillas and Serengeti Safari is a private Gorilla Trekking and Tanzania Great Migration Safari Tour that takes you to witness two of Africa’s Safari spectacles the Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park and the famous wildebeest Migration Mara River Crossing viewing in Serengeti National Park. This Gorillas and Serengeti Safari Tour takes you to Volcanoes National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park, and Serengeti National park respectively
Your tour will start in Volcanoes National park in Rwanda from where you will transfer to Arusha in Tanzania a country that offers the perfect opportunities to view wildlife including big five mammals and predators in their natural habitat in Ngorongoro, Tarangire and Serengeti national parks.
9 Days Gorillas and Serengeti Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive at Kigali Airport and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Today on arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will meet and greet with your driver/guide from Focus East Africa Tours who will transfer you to Volcanoes National Park Approximately 2 hours’ drive North of Kigali arriving in time for lunch, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Iby’Iwachu Cultural Village tour
Today after breakfast you will be transferred to the Park headquarters for briefing about the gorilla trekking rules. You will then enter the jungle to start the search for the Mountain Gorillas and on finding them you will Spend1 hour with them which will be a great experience for everyone. In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to visit Iby’iwacu local village to learn Rwandan culture, customs and traditions. The tour usually ends with traditional dance performances. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Kigali International Airport and Flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport
After breakfast you will be transferred to Kigali International airport depending on the schedule of your flight from where you will catch your flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport in the late afternoon, you will be transferred to your Hotel in Arusha for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Tarangire National Park and Game Drive
Today after breakfast, you will embark on a transfer to Tarangire National Park. This park has the largest concentration of 3000 elephants in Tanzania. Arrive and check in for lunch. The game drive in Tarangire will be done in the afternoon till evening. Dinner and overnight

Day 5: Transfer to Central Serengeti National Park and Afternoon Game Drive
After breakfast, leave Tarangire area driving to Serengeti national park home to 3 million animals which is larger than any savannah protected area on earth through Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will drive all the way to Central Area of Serengeti and on arrival you will check in to your room, enjoy the lunch and thereafter go for an Afternoon game drive returning to your accommodation late in the evening. Day 6: Full-day Serengeti Plains in Central and North Serengeti
Today is without question one of the highlights of your safari. After a rich breakfast, you will start your adventure a little earlier than usual going for a game drive in Central and parts of Western Serengeti in which you will see a number of resident animals including predators, Zebras, Giraffes, Wildebeests, and many more other mammals. You will then move towards the North of Serengeti where you will arrive in time for an evening game drive with an opportunity to see the migration as you drive to your camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Another Full day in The Serengeti
Today, you will wake up very early and head to banks of the Mara River where you will be waiting for a crossing along the river. After witnessing the Wildebeest Migration Mara River Crossing, you will continue with a general game drive as you move back towards the Central region.
The Mara River is the last major obstacle standing between the Wildebeest Migration and the relative safety of the Masai Mara. If you’re patient and a little lucky, you will get to witness the death-defying crossing itself where wildebeest and zebras brave the river’s currents and crocodiles in an attempt to reach safety on the opposite bank. Day 8: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive
Today after breakfast, you will transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you will later explore Ngorongoro crater with a ranger. This area is compared to Garden of Eden on earth. The big numbers of wildlife can be spotted in a day including all big five, the elephant, black rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetahs, and lots of hyenas, hippos, zebra and wildebeest being the most abundant. You will take a break for lunch. in the afternoon, you will continue game viewing in the south corner of the park where you visit Lake Magadi where you can see flamingos, hippos and other water birds. After the game drive you will transfer back to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 9: Departure at Kilimanjaro airport
Today depending on the schedule of your departure flight, after breakfast you will transfer to Arusha for lunch and later to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your return flight back home.
