Detailed Itinerary 11 Days Calving Season Wildebeest Migration Safari.
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to your hotel
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International, you will meet and greet with our representative who will transfer you to your hotel and give you a quick safari briefing about your upcoming safari activities before you retire for your late dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Transfer to Tarangire National Park
Today after breakfast you will be transferred to Tarangire National Park for a fascinating start to your Wildebeest Great Migration Tanzania safari. On arrival at your lodge in Tarangire,you will enjoy your hot lunch before you head out for afternoon game drive along the Tarangire River and later retire for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Full day Game drives in Tarangire
Today you will have a full day safari game drive in Tarangire beginning with a morning walk from your lodge and an afternoon game drive to the swamps where you will be hoping to see elephant and cats along the swamp edge or towards the Tarangire River. Retire to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park
Today after an early morning breakfast, you will drive towards the Great Rift Valley’s Gregory Rift home to Lake Manyara National Park which is famous for its tree-climbing lions and rain forest vegetation with pelicans and flamingos. After lunch and an afternoon game drive in Lake Manyara, you will transfer to Ngorongoro Crater for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Full day Game drive on the Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast you will descend on the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater (caldera) for your full day game drive. Be sure to find some of the Big Five animals such as Rhinos and lions and other cats like cheetah. Later retire for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Transfer to Ndutu plains of the Ngorongoro conservation area
Today you will wake up at leisure and head out for an afternoon game drive in the Ndutu plains searching for herds and some predator interaction. Later retire for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Full day game drive in Ndutu plains (Ngorongoro conservations area)
Today you will spend a full day in the Ndutu plains with herds and also predators at some point as it’s easy to find cats where there is a migration. The migration calving season is made up of the wildebeests, zebras and gazelles which attract predators in search of a days meal. Later retire for dinner and overnight at Ndutu area.
Day 8: Transfer from Ndutu to Central Serengeti
Today after early breakfast you will transfer to Central Serengeti together with your picnic lunch box and en-route you will have a game drive as you enjoy the phenomenon landscape ranging from the sea of waving grass to the rock hills and of course the famous interactions between the big cats and the prey. On arrival at your camp have dinner and later overnight.
Day 9: Half day game drive in Central Serengeti
After breakfast, you will head out for a game drive through the heart of park’s endless plains that are famous with a great count of animal population like the great big cats such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, jackal species, and herbivores like wildebeests, elephants, zebras, Thompson gazelles, and buffaloes not forgetting different bird species. Return to the lodge for lunch and relax for the rest of the evening while viewing the sun set in the Central savanna plains of Serengeti.
Day 10: Hot Air Balloon safari and Game Drive in Central Serengeti
Become one of the few fortunate people to glide in a Hot Air Balloon over the Central Serengeti plains and float silently above the bush while viewing herds, predators and the amazing scenery of East Africa across rivers and the different Masai villages. Later return to the lodge for breakfast and after breakfast head out for a full day game drive in the Serengeti together with your packed lunch. The resident game in the area is enormous and species such as Buffaloes, elephants, gazelles, zebras, lions and different other predators and herbivores can be seen here all year round. Later retire for dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Central Serengeti to Seronera Air strip.
Today after breakfast you will proceed with the game drive at central Serengeti and later on you will be dropped off at Seronera Air strip for your short flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport for a connecting flight back home.
