This 3 Days Kahuzi Biega National Park Congo Safari takes you to one of the top tourist destinations in Congo, Kahuzi Biega National Park, which is known as the most biodiverse protected area in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and home to unique lowland gorillas among other species.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick-up from Kigali, Rwanda, and cross to Bukavu
On day 1 of the 3 Days Kahuzi Biega National Park Congo Safari, upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, our company representative, a driver guide, will pick you up and transfer you to Nyungwe National Park with a perfect view of stunning rolling hills in Rusizi with a stopover for en-route lunch. You will cross through the Cyangugu border to the border of Bukavu town in the Democratic Republic of Congo. You will arrive at Bukavu, the nearest town to Kahuzi Biega, and advance to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Hotel Panorama.

Day 2: Lowland gorilla trekking – Cyangungu
On day 2 of the 3 Days Kahuzi Biega National Park Congo Safari, after having an excellent breakfast at the lodge, drive to an amazing experience of meeting face-to-face with these giant primates. The trekking experience takes you into the valley of Kahuzi, where you will be able to view different mammals, numerous birds, and primate species. The activity takes about 1 to 6 hours, depending on their location in their natural habitat. Once you find them, you will learn about their feeding, play, grooming themselves, enjoy picture taking, as well as capturing videos for your future remembrance.
You will then descend back and meet up with your driver to drive you back to your hotel for Dinner and overnight at Hotel Panorama

Day 3: Transfer back to Kigali
On the last day of the 3 Days Kahuzi Biega National Park Congo Safari, you will have an early morning breakfast and set back to Kigali city. The drive takes 7 hours, passing through Nyungwe National Park with an en-route visit to the King’s Palace in Nyanza and Butare National Museum before departing to Kigali with lunch en route, connecting to Kigali International Airport for your scheduled flight back home.

Note that your Rwanda Visa expires immediately after you cross into the Democratic Republic of Congo, so you will have to reapply for another while at the border and find it ready after the safari.
