Unforgettable safari in Rubondo Island National Park: Rubondo Island National Park is one of the two national parks in Tanzania situated on the Islands of Lake Victoria on the Tanzanian side’s Saanane Island National Park and Rubondo Island National Park itself.  Rubondo Island is situated in the southwestern part of Lake Victoria and covers 150 kilometers west of Mwanza, the nearest district is Ukerewe to the east while the towns of Mwanza and Bukobaa serve as key access points for visitors. This fascinating island encompasses 11 islets, none much than 2 square kilometers. These 10 islands form the Rubondo Island National Park covering an area of 457 square kilometers.

Climate

There is a bimodal rainfall distribution, with peaks in December and April–May during the October–May rainy season. The annual temperature is 19–26 °C.

How to get to

The park can be   accessed in three options, that’s by air, boat, and road transport;

By boat; Rubondo Island can be reached by park boat from two different locations. One option is the boat from Kasenda, a small village near Muganza in Chato District.  The other option is the boat from Nkome in Geita District.

By airplane; Rubondo Airstrip can be reached with Auric Air or Coastal Aviation.

By road; the park can also be reached by driving from Mwanza to Mugnaza which is about 270 kilometers
