Detailed day to day Itinerary 10 days Gorilla trekking Safari Uganda Rwanda

 Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to your hotel

On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by a representative of our company who will transfer you to your accommodation for the evening. Have your delicious dinner and shake off the jet-lag as you prepare for your journey into Bwindi Impenetrable National Park tomorrow.

Days 2-4: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast you will transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park arriving in time for lunch and relaxation at the lodge as you await the gorilla trek the next day.

The next day is the day you have been waiting for and after your breakfast in Bwindi you will transfer to the park headquarters for briefing and thereafter start the hike through the forest until you find the gentle creatures. Once you find them you are allowed a maximum of 1 hour with them and it’s worth the effort to look into their emotional brown eyes. Return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

You final day in Bwindi will see you involving yourself in a half-day  community walk that will include any of the nearby communities where you will be offered a taste of village life that includes local foods, seeing the blacksmith at work, visiting the primary schoolchildren and perhaps learning some new dance steps from the Youth Group!

Days 5-6: Lake Bunyonyi

Today you will wake up at leisure and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation and adventure. You will arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon massage in the spa to shed off the fatigue from the previous day of gorilla trekking. After a refreshing night’s sleep, you will set out for a soothing full day boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi returning the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Days 7-8: Volcanoes National Park

Today you will check out after breakfast and transfer to Volcanoes National Park. The journey wends its way through beautiful rolling hills and terraces fields, as well as the bamboo and montane forest of Echuya Forest Reserve. You arrive in time for lunch, relaxation, dinner and overnight. The next day you will wake up to another day of gorilla trekking and once again you will be mesmerized when you find these endangered primates.

Day 9: Gorilla trekking and Transfer to Kigali

After enjoying breakfast, you will be led into the park in search of another specie of primates the rare golden monkey. With their blue faces and bronze coats, Golden Monkeys are among the continent’s prettiest animals and live in troops of up to 30 energetic individuals. On finding them you will spend a maximum of 1 hour with them and you depart the volcanoes to Kigali City the Capital of Rwanda. You will arrive in time for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Kigali City Tour and End of Safari

Today after breakfast and depending on the schedule of your flight back home,you will take an illuminating tour of the Rwandan Genocide Memorial and Museum a deeply moving and touching experience. Later you will transfer to the airport to catch your flight back home with memories that will last forever.
