Detailed itinerary of 5 Days Tanzania Safari
Day 1: transfer to Tarangire National Park
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport in Arusha City, you will be warmly welcomed and picked up by a representative of Focus East Africa Tours. He will give you a short briefing about the safari and transfer to Tarangire National Park, a gem in the Northern Tanzania circuit.
Tarangire National Park is a perfect destination for elephant lovers and though it is not as popular as Serengeti National Park or Ngorongro Crater, it offers memorable Tanzania safari experience. The park is famous for hosting large herds of elephants and its spectacular landscape dominated by the iconic Baobab Trees.
Arrival in the park in time for lunch which you will enjoy at a picnic site overlooking the magnificent Tarangire River and the area is visited by baboons, then go for an afternoon game drive through the savannah plains. You will enjoy seeing many animals including elephants, cape buffaloes, tree climbing animals, elands, giraffes, gazelles among others. In the evening, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and depart for Serengeti National Park the most famous safari destination in Tanzania, the park is home to the Great Migration – the largest migration of land wildlife ever witnessed on earth and the big five (lion, leopard, elephants, buffaloes and rhinos).
Along the journey, you will drive have a stopover at Ngorongoro Crater’s view point where you will enjoy amazing and expansive view of the crater, then head to Serengeti plains arriving in time for lunch which you will have at a picnic site.
From the comfort of your vehicle you will explore the endless plains of Serengeti national park, some of the animals to lookout for include leopards, cheetahs, rhinos, zebras, wildebeests, lions, hartebeests and many birds. After the sunset, you will head to your lodge for check in and overnight stay.

Day 3: The Great Wildebeest Migration Drive
You will spend a full day in the endless plains of Serengeti searching and watching the large herds as they migrate through the plains on their annual migration, you will have lunch at one of the picnic sites along the Mara River.
After early breakfast at your lodge, meet your guide and head to the plains of Serengeti with packed lunch following the large wildebeest herds. Over 2 million wildebeests together with ten thousands of zebras and gazelles embark on an annual migration through the Serengeti plains, the herds move in search for water and green pastures and their movement is triggered by thunderstorms.
If you are lucky enough or visit in the right time of the year, you will witness the deadly Mara River crossing. This event is nerve wrecking as you watch the herds stumble the fast following waters of Mara filled with deadly crocodiles, watching the herds fighting for survival is a memorable experience to hold on to for life.
In the evening, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater
Today is another exciting day of the safari, after breakfast you will checkout of the lodge and end to Ngorongoro Crater with en-route game drive.
Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest unfilled and intact caldera, the crater is home to a huge population of wildlife including large prides of lions, leopards, cape buffaloes, gazelles, zebras, giraffes, elephants with long tusks among others.
During the game drive through the crater, you will spot a number of animals, many birds and enjoy the spectacular views of the crater and its rim. You will enjoy lunch at one of the picnic sites on the crater floor and continue exploring the crater, in the evening you will head to your lodge for check-in and overnight stay.
