On this 5 days Serengeti National Park safari you will explore Tanzania’s most famous National parks Starting in Tarangire National Park or Lake Manyara National Park to Serengeti and finally you will finish your wildlife viewing encounters in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Famously known as home to the spectacular Big Five and the Serengeti is one of the most famous parks of Africa for a Classic wildlife safari which has made it feature in many documentaries.
5 Days Serengeti National Park Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Arusha to Tarangire or Lake Manyara National Park
Today on arrival or after breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to Tarangire National Park or Lake Manyara National Park depending on your choice and our advice based on the time of the year. It takes two hours to reach both parks from Arusha and en-route you will have a chance to see the Masai villages in case you choose Tarangire or visit Mto Wa Mbu Market if you choose Lake Manyara. Arrive in time for lunch and head out for an afternoon game drive
Day 2: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
After a heavy breakfast you will begin your exploration scenic drive towards the Serengeti National Park and en-route you will have game viewing chances in the Ngorongoro Conservation area where you might see cape buffalos, leopards, baboons, lions and elephants.
You will arrive in the Serengeti in time for lunch at the Picnic area and later in the afternoon begin your game drive in Africa’s iconic Savannah landscape where you will encounter a number of animal species such as lions, giraffes, leopards, cheetahs, gazelles and elephants among others. Later in the evening you will retire to your lodge for dinner and overnight in the heart of the Serengeti National Park.
Day 3: Serengeti National Park
Today you will wake up very early and head out for a sun rise game drive as the sun sets fire to the savannah. With this game drive in the Serengeti plains you will have the best opportunity to see predators in action as they take advantage of the low light and cooler temperatures to look for an early meal. Be ready to see animals like lions, leopards, and cheetahs in action as well as the early morning movements of the wildebeest, zebra, and other herbivores. Return to the lodge for breakfast after the amazing early morning wildlife encounters and freshen up as you prepare to get on the road again. Later in the afternoon together with your packed lunch head out for another game viewing drive from which you will be able to maximize your Serengeti experience.
Day 4: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Ngorongoro Crater and en-route you will have game viewing opportunities in the Serengeti including the herds of wildebeest, Zebras, antelopes, giraffes and predators such as lions, Cheetahs, leopards and spotted hyenas among other animals. Dinner and overnight at the lodge of your choice.
Day 5: Game Drive in the Ngorongoro Crater and Transfer to Arusha
After breakfast descend onto the crater floor for a game drive in which you will be able to see animals like the black Rhinos, Hippos, African Buffaloes, Wildebeest, Zebras, Thompsons Gazelles, oribis, lions, cheetahs, leopards and spotted hyenas. Later ascend from the crater and begin your transfer to Arusha from where you will be taken to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your outbound flight.
